PROJECT SAMPLES

Project | 01 #WeAreWWU
What began in January 2015 as a service-learning opportunity for my students developed into a full-fledged philanthropy campaign spanning five years. We raised over $50k in support of student scholarships, provided tangible experience for undergraduates, and changed the lives of hundreds of members of the WWU Community.

Project | 02 Innovative Teaching Showcase

This Innovative Teaching Showcase theme, “Infusing Multicultural Perspectives into the Curriculum,” sought to honor faculty who have infused their course materials and instructional strategies with diverse perspectives in order to include the many facets of the human experience. Inclusive course design promotes sensitivity toward multicultural issues, challenges traditional perspectives, and embeds equity, justice, and diversity principles in disciplinary content.

Project | 03 Bellingham Brain Cancer Walk
The Bellingham Brain Cancer Walk was a project imagined by Hannah Dashiell, who tragically died in an auto accident before it came to fruition. The project was brought to my attention by a university colleague, and I offered to organize a class of 25 students to assist in planning, marketing, implementing and assessing the event. In 2015, we had over 400 participants and raised over $9k in support of brain cancer research.
